Thomas Frank unhappy with Tottenham Hotspur’s draw vs Brentford
Brentford manager Thomas Frank believes that his team deserved to get all three points against Tottenham Hotspur at the Gtech Community Stadium on Boxing Day.
The two London teams took on each other in an important Premier League clash which had the potential to propel Spurs closer to the top two teams – Manchester City and Arsenal.
However, one point was the best they could manage. The team showed their power of recovery once again when Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored two goals to help the team recover after falling two goals behind.
Kane and Hobjberg’s goals came within seven minutes of each other, but Tottenham could manage another striker in the 25 minutes that were left in the game after the equaliser (including stoppage time).
A poor result for Spurs
After the game, the Danish tactician said that Brentford were dominant until Kane’s goal just past the hour mark. He said (h/t Evening Standard):
“Until the Kane goal I think there was one team on the pitch, that was us, and over the 90 minutes I think we deserved the win. We go into every game believing we can win no matter who we are playing and we know we have a chance against every team.”
Having beaten Manchester City last month before the season stopped for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the game against Brentford was never going to be a walk in the park. But it was a game fans expected the team to win at the end of the day.
Spurs conceded two really poor goals, especially Ivan Toney’s second half goal that came via a set-piece. It was
a complete lack of concentration and organisation at the back. The result keeps up in fourth with 30 points from 16 games. But Manchester United are four points behind with two games in hand.

Brentford were good but they did not deserve the win. Spurs showed brilliant resilience and put on great pressure to score the winning goal. If anything, it was us who could have won the match – we just woke up too late in the game.
