Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Josko Gvardiol admits love for Liverpool

Speaking in an interview with Danas as quoted by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Josko Gvardiol has admitted his admiration for Liverpool and reveals being a fan since a very young age.

Gvardiol is highly rated by a number of clubs. The talented Croatian defender had a very impressive World Cup campaign and has seen his stocks rise meteorically since those performances.

The talented 20-year-old centre-back plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He has been the epitome of consistency for quite some time now and this World Cup only acted as a catalyst in pushing him to the limelight.

A number of clubs around the world are interested in Gvardiol. Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are both said to admire the player and secure a move for a defender who can define a decade.

Despite interest from the Lilywhites and the Blues, Gvardiol has come out and revealed his admiration for Liverpool. Whilst it might not mean much in terms of a transfer, the Croatian has revealed himself as a fan of the club.

The 20-year-old has admitted to watching many Liverpool matches as a kid with his dad and said that his 10-year-old self would tell him to join the Reds now.

“That would definitely be Liverpool. Since I was little, I watched a lot of Liverpool matches with my dad, and we covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.”

Although Gvardiol may have admitted his love for Liverpool, players always don’t get to join the club that they want to. It depends on which club is willing to make an offer and sign the player.

There is absolutely no doubt that Leipzig will demand a huge fee to sell the player. Although Liverpool made an exception with Darwin Nunez, they are not a club that splurges the cash on one player.

Tottenham can breathe easy for now since Liverpool have not registered any interest in the player yet. If they enter the race though, then the Reds might hold a massive advantage.
