Tottenham Hotspur monitoring Brighton star Leandro Trossard

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring talented Belgian star Leandro Trossard who has been impressive for Brighton this season.

Trossard has been arguably Brighton’s best player this season. He started well under Graham Potter and has since then just gone on getting better under new manager Roberto de Zerbi who is doing a great job at the Amex stadium.

Zerbi actually benched Trossard for the game against Everton, a game that Brighton won 4-0 sparkling talks of an impending transfer for the Belgian. However, the Italian manager did come out and say he had a physical issue.

Trossard has put up some very impressive goal numbers this season. He has been very good going forward and is key to everything good that the Seagulls do. His work rate is something that Conte will love.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea as well. A reunion with former boss Potter could be on the cards for the talented winger but as things stand, it doesn’t look good for the former Brighton manager at SW6.

Tottenham’s interest in Trossard is interesting since he does not have a natural position in a Conte system. He is likely to play in the Ivan Perisic role where he is a left wing-back on paper but keeps getting forward.

It does not look like Brighton are keen on selling Trossard though. Teams generally don’t like selling their best players in January and there is a chance that the seagulls will block a transfer for Trossard until the summer.

Tottenham’s interest right now is exploratory at best. They have not really made a proper offer for him yet and if they were to, they will not find it easy, especially with the Graham Potter pull likely to pull him to Chelsea.
