Louis Saha urges Tottenham Hotspur not to go for Jordan Pickford
Speaking to BoyleSports as quoted by Football. London, former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton star Louis Saha has urged Fabio Paratici & co. not to go for Jordan Pickford to replace Hugo Lloris.
Saha is of the opinion that Lloris must not be replaced by Tottenham and that he still has what it takes to play at the top level. The Frenchman doesn’t believe that his compatriot is the weak link in Antonio Conte’s team.
The former player is of the opinion that Jordan Pickford definitely does not have what it takes to replace Lloris. Here is what he had to say about the rumours linking the Everton goalie to N17.
“I’m not sure about Pickford as I don’t think you’ll find a better player than Hugo Lloris as a captain and as someone who knows the club and the progression that this club needs to reach the top.
“Lloris hasn’t shown that he’s a weak link – he’s still a great goalkeeper. Just like De Gea, he’s still a top player who can play at the highest level”
Hugo Lloris has come under a lot of criticism for his performances this season. The French World Cup winner has been a pale shadow of his former authoritative self in goal and has made quite a few mistakes.
At 36, it comes as no surprise that people have started calling for the axe to fall on Lloris’ head. He is not doing anything to prove them wrong though and looks like a player who is finished at the top level.
