Tottenham Hotspur can land Bristol City’s Alex Scott for £25 million
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have learnt the new asking price for Bristol City wonder-kid Alex Scott who they are interested in.
The Lilywhites are not the only club interested in signing the 19-year-old with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, Leicester City and Bournemouth also interested in the talented midfielder.
Wolves have apparently entered the race in full force to try and snap up the wonderkid as soon as possible with new Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui keen on making this signing happen ahead of the other competitors.
It has now emerged that any club interested in signing the English wonderkid will have to pay £25 million with Bristol City looking to make the most of a player who has really impressed in recent times.
That’s quite a momentous fee for a player who is just breaking through but it also shows how highly the Robins value the teenage sensation. This price could put off some of the aforementioned competitors though.
Scott has been a mainstay in the team making five assists from 29 appearances across all competitions. Predominantly a central midfielder, the 19-year-old can also play in attacking midfield or even the right of midfield.
That said, despite the fact that he is ridiculously talented, Tottenham will be better off without signing Scott. At 19, the teenager is still a long while away from being a first-team player and will need quite a few loan moves to develop.
Spending the kind of money Bristol City are asking on a player who if anything is set to be useful for the first team at least after five years only does not really make sense. We are better off investing the cash elsewhere.
