Tottenham Hotspur to offer cash plus Emerson Royal for Alessandro Bastoni
Tottenham Hotspur could look to offer Emerson Royal plus cash in their bid to sign transfer target Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan, as per Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb (h/t Football.London).
The Italy international would surely be a first-team starter for us the moment he potentially joins us. He has been brilliant for Inter Milan’s senior side in the past couple of seasons.
We need a natural centre-back in our defensive line who is of world-class quality and potentially someone who can replace Ben Davies in the back three. The Welshman hasn’t been bad.
But we need a natural centre-back in order to tighten up our defence. Eric Dier and Cristian Romero are trusted by manager Antonio Conte, but beyond them, we have no quality depth in the team.
A brilliant proposition for us
Emerson is also a player not many Spurs will be disappointed to see leaving the club. The former Barcelona right-back just hasn’t been convincing enough for us at right-back and is often the weak link in our defence.
That is, if we sign a replacement for him. Matt Doherty and Djed Spence won’t be an immediate step up in quality if they deputise for Emerson, although the Englishman hasn’t had the chance to properly showcase his ability with the senior team so far.
Coincidentally, Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan is a player we have been linked with in past months. If the Netherlands international leaves the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium soon, Emerson could then be a possible replacement for him.

There will hardly be a better scenario if we manage to sign both Inter stars and use Emerson to raise some funds for this venture. However, it remains to be seen how I Nerazzurri respond to such an idea.
