“It’s now done”- Romano confirms Arsenal have won the race for 28-year-old Spurs target
Arsenal agree deal for Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Trossard
According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have agreed a deal for Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Trossard was linked with a move to Tottenham after he fell out with Roberto de Zerbi at the Amex. However, it looks like North London derby rivals Arsenal have acted quickly to get a deal done.
As talented as the 28-year-old Belgium international is, his attitude has come into question following his behaviour with the Seagulls. De Zerbi understandably isolated him from the squad and Trossard has gotten the transfer he wants.
The Belgian has been superb for Brighton this campaign prior to this fallout. Trossard really impressed for Graham Potter initially and then went on to be De Zerbi’s main player during the first few games.
It is understandable why Tottenham wanted to sign Trossard. He is hard-working and can play in a number of positions. It’s a huge positive for Conte who likes to have players who work for the team.
Arsenal were on the lookout for a backup winger after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea. The Ukrainian seemed on his way to the Emirates for a long time but he eventually decided to go to the Bridge.

This left the Gunners searching for options to buy as a backup to their existing players in that position. Where Trossard would fit in remains to be seen but he could be a good rotation option for Arsenal – as he would have been for us, given how he can play as an attacking midfielder as well as anywhere across the frontline.
Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League by a substantial margin. Their playing XI has pretty much been set in stone throughout the season barring injuries and Trossard will have to fight for his place.

Trossard not coming to N17 is not the biggest loss for us. He would have added some attacking depth but there are other players who we can target.
