Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal target Youssoufa Moukoko is staying at Borussia Dortmund

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal transfer target Youssoufa Moukoko is staying put at Borussia Dortmund beyond the current season from the look of things.

Dortmund have announced that the Germany international has signed a new contract that runs until the end of the 2025-26 season. This comes as an obvious blow to the teams that were pursuing him.

As per the Express, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur were among his suitors. It’s not a surprise Premier League teams were monitoring his situation.

They can afford to have a player like Moukoko on their books. However, it seems that they will have to either wait to sign or cough up big bucks considering his future is now in Dortmund’s hands.

Blow for Spurs

The 18-year-old was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Germany and his presence at Borussia Dortmund has done a lot to help their fans forget about hitman Erling Haaland since his move to Manchester City.

They now have a new young striker, alongside Karim Adeyemi, lighting up the Westfalenstadion. It would have been nothing short of a dream move for Tottenham to sign a talent like him on a free transfer in the summer as a free agent.

We could, after all, be in a situation where we have to search for Harry Kane’s successor. The England international, in the final 18 months of his deal at N17, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

It wouldn’t have been easy at all, to begin with, for us considering the number of clubs linked with Moukoko. Now, it should be clarified that signing a new deal doesn’t mean that the striker will absolutely not leave the Black and Yellow for three-and-a-half years.

It just means that if he does leave before that, he will command a strong fee – one that reflects his talent, age, and ceiling.
