Tottenham Hotspur coach confirm Richarlison’s status for Manchester City clash

Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Cristian Stellini has confirmed that Richarlison is available to play in the Premier League clash against Manchester City this Sunday.

He was absent from our FA Cup win against Preston North End at Deepdale along with Harry Kane. Stellini has confirmed once again that Richarlison will be fit for the clash against the Cityzens at N17.

He said at a pre-match press conference in manager Antonio Conte’s temporary absence (h/t Football.London):

“Yes we have. Like I said after the last game Richarlison had a small problem and now he is available. He has been training in this week and he is available.”

This is good news for us considering we need someone to make the difference off the bench as well. With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min untouchable in the starting XI, one can expect Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski to battle for a starting position down the right flank.

Boost for Spurs

With Arnaut Danjuma also in the team and up and running on the scoring front, we could now have two quality attackers waiting to come off the bench and make a difference against the Cityzens.

We also play at N17, where a win would be expected from the team. We’ve enjoyed success against Manchester City in recent years and hopefully, that trend continues this time as well.

Two wins against them in our last five games across competitions is not a bad record at all considering the side manager Pep Guardiola possesses. One can imagine that Richy was given a precautionary rest against Preston.

And it didn’t harm us in any way as well. Let’s hope Richarlison is up and firing for this clash as he has only been able to feature in bit-part cameos after the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to an injury he picked up in Qatar.
