Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Arsenal tracking Barcelona star Ansu Fati

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich are keeping a track of Ansu Fati at Barcelona.

This is according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who cite serious interest in the player from manager Julien Nagelsmann’s side. Fati has a contract at Spotify Camp Nou until the summer of 2027.

He also has a mammoth 1,000million Euros release clause, which, in all honesty, no team should be capable of meeting, at least by legal means. Nevertheless, buy-out clauses don’t mean that players can’t be signed for less than that.

Fati has started just seven of his 19 La Liga appearances this campaign and manager Xavi Fernandez’s recent preference to play with a four-man midfield is said to be hindering the Spain international’s chances in the starting XI.

Is a move possible?

He has, however, scored six goals and provided three assists in 30 games across competitions this season already. For a 20-year-old, those aren’t bad numbers in terms of appearances for a top club like Barca.

There is hardly a chance that he becomes an instant starter in our team or even Arsenal’s. They have young Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka to man their flanks for years to come.

We have Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski, and Richarlison in attack and it remains to be seen if Arnaut Danjuma is here beyond the summer. Sure, in the future we can use Fati to perhaps replace Son down the left flank.

But it would be a shock if Barca parted ways with one of their brightest academy stars who still has several years left on his contract. His pace and attacking impetus in the final third make him a nightmare and he is destined to be a world-class player.

Why would Barca want to sell him, unless there is a financial crisis… until then. it’s best to forget about this particular piece of news.
