Tottenham Hotspur keen to sign Ben Foster after Hugo Lloris injury
Tottenham Hotspur could sign Ben Foster as a free agent after an injury to Hugo Lloris has sidelined him for a lengthy period, as per the Mirror.
The French legend suffered a ligament injury in Spurs’ 1-0 win against Manchester City on Sunday. Foster, who is 39 years old, is currently a free agent.
He retired from playing football last summer when his contract at Watford expired. However, the former England international could be an option for Spurs as they look to find a short-term solution for Lloris’ absence.
The club currently have Fraser Forster as a backup. He was signed as a free agent last summer after his contract at Southampton expired.
But the club will need another goalkeeper to deputise or compete with Forster in the coming weeks. Forster, 33, would have certainly been signed for a time like this.
He is a decent shot-stopper and can surely be expected to step in for Lloris. But beyond Forster, we have no experienced options in this position.
Foster would cost nothing in transfer fees and will be an experienced set of gloves if he is needed to step in between the goal. Given his age, we can’t expect him to be at his best.
But at this point, our options are reduced. We will have to think of something quick to avoid a disaster in the coming weeks in case Forster also somehow becomes unavailable for selection.

Foster has played 524 senior games across his 21-year-long senior career where he represented clubs such as Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, and Manchester United.
