Tottenham Hotspur are amongst four clubs interested in Maurizio Sarri
According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Tottenham Hotspur are one of four clubs interested in signing Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri as their next head coach.
The former Chelsea and Juventus coach is reportedly unhappy at Lazio, where he has a contract until 2025, and is considering his options. Sarri is “not at all certain” of remaining at Lazio, with the club’s tough stance on Champions League qualification frustrating him.
Despite being on track for a top-four finish, the Italian is said to have felt “alone, almost abandoned” by the club. This uncertainty has led to interest from a number of clubs, including Tottenham.
The North London club has had a mixed season under Antonio Conte, with a lack of goals and creativity hindering their progress. With the future of star striker Harry Kane also up in the air, a change of manager could be just what the team needs to get back on track.
Sarri has a proven track record in Europe, having led Napoli to the brink of the Serie A title and Chelsea to the Europa League trophy. His attacking philosophy and emphasis on possession football could be just what Tottenham need to reignite their passion.
However, Tottenham are not the only club interested in Sarri. Everton and West Ham are also reportedly keen on the Italian, while AC Milan could also make a move if they part ways with current coach Stefano Pioli.
Of course, there are no guarantees that Sarri would be a success at Tottenham. The Premier League is a notoriously tough league to adapt to, and the Italian would need time to implement his style of play and build a team capable of challenging for honours.
Signing Sarri would also see a huge shift in playstyle from what we have had for a few seasons under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. The Italian manager is someone who likes to play possession football.

Sarri, with time, has a track record of making teams play exceptional football. However, Tottenham seem to be in the mood for quick success and the Lazio manager might not be the answer in that regard.
