Tottenham eye Max Kilman as an alternative for Piero Hincapie

In his latest column for CaughtOffside, revered CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Spurs are considering Wolves defender Max Kilman as an alternative to Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie.

Hincapie has impressed in the Bundesliga this season, but he recently signed a new contract with Leverkusen, which could make it difficult for Spurs to sign him. Kilman, on the other hand, is a more realistic target, and the 25-year-old could be on the move at the end of the season.

While Kilman might not be a household name like some of the other players linked with Tottenham, he is a talented and versatile defender who could prove to be a valuable addition to Antonio Conte’s squad.

What makes Kilman an interesting prospect is his ability to play in multiple positions. He is primarily a centre-back, but he can also play as a left-back or in defensive midfield. This kind of versatility could be particularly useful for Spurs, who have been hit by injuries and suspensions in defence this season.

Kilman has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for Wolves. He has shown his quality for Julen Lopetuigi’s side as they look to be on the upwards trend of late.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Kilman will be able to replicate his form at Tottenham, but he has shown that he has the potential to be a top-level defender. If Spurs do decide to sign him, they will be getting a player who is still relatively young and who could develop into a key player for the club.

Speaking about the pursuit of Kilman, here is what Ben Jacobs had to say about Tottenham and their plans.

“Also keep an eye on Wolves’ Max Kilman, who Spurs like and could well be on the move at the end of the season. What Antonio Conte really wants, in all positions, is more ‘starter-signings’”

There is no doubt that Tottenham need to strengthen their defence this summer. The team has conceded too many goals this season, and there have been too many individual errors that have cost the team points.

It’s worth noting that Tottenham have already made a number of signings this season, but not all of them have been successful. Some of the new players have struggled to adapt to the Premier League, while others have been hit by injuries.

Hincapie is the more exciting option as things stand. However, Kilman will not be a bad alternate should we fail to sign the Ecuadorian.
