Tottenham make Naby Keita priority for the summer
According to Fichajes.net, Tottenham Hotspur have made Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita a priority for the summer with his Reds contract set to expire by then.
Tottenham have had a difficult season so far, with inconsistency being the main issue for the North London club. One of the reasons for this has been a lack of quality in midfield, from a creative perspective.
Keita is a midfielder with great technical ability, athleticism, and vision. He is a player who can control the game from the middle of the park, driving forward with the ball and creating chances for his teammates.
His ability to win the ball back is also a great asset, making him a complete midfielder. This is exactly what Tottenham need, a midfielder who can do it all. The problem with Keita has never been his quality though, it has always been his fitness.
The fact that he is available on a free transfer makes him an attractive proposition for Tottenham. Keita has remained fit since the start of the calendar year and is a consistent starter for Jurgen Klopp.
Whilst Liverpool could still choose to give Keita a new contract, it does not look likely currently. This is why Tottenham have understandably made the midfielder a priority for the summer.
Signing Keita would be a statement of intent from Tottenham. It would show that the club is serious about competing for the top prizes in English football. It would give them a huge edge in midfield and he would suit an Antonio Conte system should the Italian manager continue here.
Maybe a move away from Anfield might just be what the Liverpool midfielder needs. Tottenham have improved their physical levels immensely under Conte and this could mean that Keita will finally find a solution to stay fit.

On a free transfer, this is a no-brainer for Tottenham. Let’s see if the club actually manage to convince Keita to come to N17 though.
