Cristiano Romero talks about the impact of missing Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur through injury
Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has talked about the impact of missing Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur through injury.
Injuries are taking their toll on the team. One such injury is that of Rodrigo Bentancur, who has been sidelined due to an ACL injury. Bentancur, who is a close friend of new Tottenham signing Cristian Romero, will be sorely missed by the squad.
Romero has been one of the best players for Tottenham this season. The defender has been in fine form for his country, putting in solid performances at the back. However, in a recent interview, he talked about the impact of missing his friend Bentancur due to injury.
“We all miss him a lot. It’s a big loss for the time being but we know the player that he is,” said the 24-year-old”

It’s clear that Bentancur is an integral part of the squad, and his absence will be felt by the team. His absence means that Tottenham will have to look for alternative options in midfield which is not that easy.
So, given the run ahead, the loss of Bentancur to injury was, of course, a huge blow to the squad. However, Antonio Conte is someone who knows to get the best out of the players he has and that will be key.
In the absence of the Uruguayan, the biggest problem for Juventus is the fact that they lack a creative presence in midfield. Whilst Bentancur ain’t the most creative player going around himself, he is the best bet we have.
Tottenham are placed fourth in the Premier League table with Newcastle United losing momentum in recent weeks. The Lilywhites will have to take advantage of this and move in the right direction.
It has not always been plain sailing for so long when it comes to Conte’s time at Tottenham. However, one cannot discredit the work he has done in establishing the mentality of this squad and improving them.
