Altay Bayindir has a gentleman’s agreement to join Tottenham Hotspur
According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Altay Bayindir has reached a gentleman’s agreement to join Tottenham Hotspur as a new goalkeeper for next season.
The news of Tottenham’s agreement to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is interesting. After all, the goalkeeper position is one that has been under the microscope at the North London club for some time now, with Hugo Lloris’ age and injury problems being a growing concern.
Bayindir is just 24 years old, and at this young age, he has already established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Turkish Super Lig. He has been a regular for the Turkish national team as well, and with Fenerbahce, he has shown his quality time and time again.

While Newcastle United were also linked with the Turkish talent, it seems Tottenham has won the race to sign him. Tottenham has been linked with Bayindir in the past, and it is clear that the club sees him as a long-term replacement for Lloris.
The Frenchman has been an excellent servant to the club over the years, but it is time for Tottenham to plan for the future, and that is exactly what they have done by reaching an agreement with Bayindir.
The goalkeeper position is one of the most crucial positions on the pitch, and with Bayindir, Tottenham has signed a young, talented, and promising goalkeeper. Bayindir’s arrival will provide competition for the number one spot, and this can only be good for the team as a whole.
It is worth noting that Bayindir will need time to adapt to life in the Premier League. The Turkish Super Lig is a very different league from the Premier League, and it will take time for Bayindir to get used to the pace and physicality of English football.
The North London club is looking to build for the future and with the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min leading the line, the necessity for someone who can be a reliable shot-stopper is increasing.
