Tottenham and AC Milan want Lecce star Joan Gonzalez

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are both reportedly interested in signing Joan Gonzalez, the young midfielder who currently plays for Serie A club Lecce.

Despite being just 21 years old, Gonzalez has already established himself as a key player for Lecce, with four-goal contributions in 22 Serie A appearances this season. Gonzalez’s rise to prominence is even more impressive when you consider his background.

He graduated from Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, which has produced some of the greatest footballers of all time, including Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta. After leaving Barcelona, Gonzalez joined Lecce last summer.

It’s clear that Gonzalez has the talent to play at the highest level, and both Tottenham and AC Milan have recognized this. Tottenham were the first to be linked with the midfielder, with reports suggesting that the North London club had sent scouts to watch him play on multiple occasions this season.

Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Antonio Conte’s men are keeping a close eye on Gonzalez and that his value has now risen to around €8m in light of his performances this season.

This means that Lecce could hold out for a higher transfer fee if they decide to sell him. It’s also possible that they could decide to keep him for another season in the hope that his value will continue to grow.

For Gonzalez, a move to either Tottenham or AC Milan would represent a significant step up in his career. Both clubs have a rich history and a passionate fanbase, and playing for them would give him the chance to showcase his talents on the biggest stage.

However, he would also face a new set of challenges as he will find himself playing for a big club at such a young age. We still know if he has a calm head to deal with the popularity that comes with such moves.

It’s not yet clear where Gonzalez will end up, but one thing is for sure: he has a bright future ahead of him. At just 21 years old, he still has plenty of time to develop and improve, and there’s no telling how far he could go.

If Tottenham think he is an ideal fit, we must sign him. However, Antonio Conte has shown a reluctance to blood young players and we must not sign a player and waste him on the bench like we did with Djed Spence. Let’s see.
