Tottenham linked Steve Cooper fighting for his future at Nottingham Forest
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur-linked Steve Cooper is apparently fighting for his job at Nottingham Forest after a poor run of results that has put them in a relegation scrap.
Cooper, who has been at Forest for some time now has done an admirable job there which has gained him interest from top Premier League clubs. However, it looks like the club have hit their ceiling under the manager.
Last weekend’s clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers ended in a 1-1 draw. Things might not be going according to plan at Forest and they might be contemplating giving Cooper the sack.
Cooper has been linked with the Tottenham job for quite some time now. He is considered one of the club’s shortlisted names for the new manager job at the club and he will definitely be a good option.
However, there are question marks over how far Cooper will be able to take the club. He has not been able to take Nottingham Forest beyond a particular level and whether he can take a club like Tottenham remains to be seen.
Well, obviously, he will get better players to work with at Spurs than he did at Forest and that could be a good thing. Tottenham must really have given this a lot of thought if they are considering him on their shortlist.
However, there is a caveat. Cooper for all his credentials is not the best option we have on our shortlist. With so many good managers available right now, maybe the Nottingham Forest man is not the right choice.
Tottenham have to get really serious with this appointment. It is not time to experiment when it comes to appointing a manager. The last time we took a punt with Nuno Espirito Santos, we all saw how it went.

Only time will tell how the situation pans out. Cooper is an interesting option but it is not all that convincing. Let’s hope we look at better options.
