Pete O’Rourke claims Vincent Kompany does not want to join Tottenham Hotspur
Writing in his column for FootballInsider247, Reporter O’Rourke has shared an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of hiring Vincent Kompany as their new manager and it is not good news.
Despite the speculation, it seems that Kompany is keen on remaining at Turf Moor to help guide the Clarets to another season of Premier League football. The Belgian has done a fantastic job in the Championship this season.
The Lilywhites have been impressed by Kompany’s work and are believed to be considering him as a serious candidate for the vacant managerial role. With Antonio Conte leaving the club, Spurs are on the lookout for a new manager.
While some members of the squad are calling for Mauricio Pochettino’s return, chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be keen on Kompany. The former Manchester City defender has proven himself to be an astute tactician during his time at Burnley.
However, with Kompany seemingly set on remaining at Turf Moor, Tottenham may have to turn their attention elsewhere. Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique and ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann have also been linked with the role.
Pochettino though is said to be on the top of the Chelsea list. Hence, he might prefer to go to West London than come back to the place that so unceremoniously sacked him all these years ago.
