Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane responds to cheeky chant from Manchester United fans

Manchester United fans were heard chanting ‘Harry Kane, we’ll see you in June’ during their team’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday (April 27).

The away fans’ chant found its way to the 29-year-old’s ears. The Red Devils led the game 2-0 at half-time but goals from Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min salvaged a point for us at home.

Kane’s beautiful assist for the South Korea international’s goal was the pivotal moment. Speaking after a good performance against Manchester United, Kane admitted, via Express:

“I heard what they were saying but I’m just focussed on this team and trying to finish strongly.”

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the Spurs superstar. They will, however, have to fork out somewhere near 100million Pounds for him.

They are also believed to be open to paying him a massive 300,000 Pounds a week if he moves to Old Trafford. Firstly, someone should tell Manchester United fans that the window will open in July, not June.

Kane did not commit anything in his comments above but neither did he pledge his loyalty to us. One can imagine that whoever we hire as a new permanent manager could have an important role to play in this saga.

He could, hopefully, explain to Kane the project he has in mind for the club. The 29-year-old is in the prime years of his career but could feel like he is wasting it if he is not able to win a trophy.

Manchester United have won the League Cup and are in the FA Cup final. We may argue that Spurs are an equally good team, at least on paper, but Erik ten Hag is getting tangible results there. They are also more likely to finish in the top four this season as compared to us. Worrying times.
