Dean Jones: Tottenham Hotspur’s inability to secure Harry Kane’s future is affecting their managerial hunt
Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones claims that Tottenham Hotspur’s inability to secure Harry Kane’s future is affecting their pursuit of a new manager.
The North London club has been without a permanent manager since the exit of Antonio Conte in March, and the hunt for a replacement has been anything but smooth sailing. The club are still looking for a new coach.
Despite their best efforts, Spurs have been unable to convince any top-tier manager to take the job. The lack of assurance over Harry Kane‘s future is a major factor. The English striker could be on his way out.

He has been linked with a move away from the club for some time now, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and PSG all said to be interested in him. While Spurs fans are hoping he will stay put, it will not be easy.
Dean Jones explained that Tottenham’s inability to provide any guarantees over Kane’s future is a significant stumbling block in their search for a new manager.
“Now listen, a big problem in recruiting a new coach is convincing them that Harry Kane is going to be there or telling them that he’s not and they’ll have X amount to spend on a new striker, that is a major problem.”
If Kane does leave, Spurs will need to find a suitable replacement, which will require a significant budget. The club is under immense pressure to sort out these issues and get things stable as soon as possible.
With the current season coming to an end, they cannot afford to waste any more time. Tottenham needs to make some critical decisions, including hiring a new sporting director and sorting out Kane’s contract.
Tottenham needs to act quickly and make some decisive moves if they are to rebuild the club and get back to competing at the top level. The new manager will have a significant role to play in this process.
