Danny Rose makes sobering admission regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane
According to Astro SuperSport on Youtube (h/t Metro), Danny Rose has revealed that Harry Kane will ask to leave Tottenham Hotspur should the right team come calling.
This revelation is yet another blow in our ambitions to rekindle our ambitions next season. With no manager or sporting director in place, the club will take another step backwards if they lose their star man.
Kane is the club’s top scorer this season and has more goals than the team’s next four goalscorers put together. Take him out of the equation and we might as well be mired in mid-table mediocrity.
At 29, Kane has already cemented his name in both Tottenham and English folklore as a goalscorer. These individual achievements largely mask his lack of any major trophies. His contract at N-17 expires in the summer of 2024 and the English skipper has a decision to make.
Rose reveals talking to Kane a few days ago and is now convinced that the striker will seek greener pastures. A lot should depend on the clubs who are keen to secure his services.
“If the right team comes in for Harry – that Harry wants to go and play for – I feel as if Harry will knock on that door and say, “You’ve got to let me leave.”
Rose also took a dig at Daniel Levy for failing to match Kane’s ambitions at the club. The Tottenham honcho has failed to bring about a positive change in our fortunes as far as winning trophies of late is concerned.

Contract negotiations are certainly set to take place sooner or later. What cards Levy holds in negotiations is questionable indeed. And given Rose’s closeness with Kane off the pitch, it seems that the former Spurs left-back is onto something here.
“He’s very much clued on about what he’s going to do next season and, for me, I don’t think Daniel [Levy] holds the cards with Harry at the minute.”
Rose’s admission combined with Mauricio Pochettino’s eventual takeover at Chelsea, Tottenham fans have reasons to be nervous. The Argentine is keen on a reunion but moving to a local rival will certainly ruin Kane’s image at Tottenham. However, whether it is a hit he is willing to take should he win numerous trophies remains to be seen.
