According to Kicker journalist Georg Holzner, Marco Neppe of Bayern Munich has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur to fill the sporting director vacancy.

Tottenham Hotspur finds themselves in the midst of a crucial search for a replacement for former sporting director Fabio Paratici, who stepped down earlier this year following a 30-month ban from football.

As the club looks to navigate this transitional period, they have been linked to Bayern Munich’s technical director, Marco Neppe. Neppe has been an integral part of Bayern Munich since 2014 when he first joined the club as a scout.

With his keen eye for talent and astute judgment, he quickly caught the attention of the club’s management and ascended through the ranks. By 2017, Neppe had earned the esteemed title of “head of scouting” showcasing his undeniable competence in player identification and recruitment.

His meteoric rise within the Bayern Munich hierarchy culminated in 2021 when he assumed the role of technical director. This appointment was a testament to the confidence placed in Neppe by the club’s top brass.

While Neppe’s work at Bayern Munich has been questioned following the team’s recent season, it appears that Tottenham is seriously considering him as a potential candidate for their technical director position.

Alongside Marco Neppe, Tottenham has also been linked with other potential candidates for the role, including Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs, AS Roma’s director Tiago Pinto, and former Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Tim Steidten.

As the current season nears its conclusion, Tottenham fans are growing increasingly concerned about the team’s future. The lack of a sporting director or manager appointment by Chairman Daniel Levy only prolongs the uncertainty and anxiety among the club’s faithful supporters.
