Villarreal could offer Nigerian ace in exchange for Giovani Lo Celso
Villarreal could offer Samuel Chukwueze to Tottenham in exchange for Giovani Lo Celso
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Villarreal are already proposing a swap deal offer that would see Nigeria international attacker Chukwueze come to Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for Giovani Lo Celso.
The Argentine midfielder, who endured a difficult spell at Spurs since his high-profile move from Real Betis in 2019, seems destined to seek new pastures this summer following an 18-month loan stint at La Ceramica.
Villarreal are keen to secure Lo Celso’s services permanently after witnessing his resurgence in La Liga. In what appears to be an enticing proposition, the Yellow Submarine has put forward an offer that would see Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze heading in the opposite direction.

Chukwueze, a player who had previously attracted interest from Everton, has seen his stock rise significantly after a productive campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Interestingly, the 24-year-old Nigerian forward almost found himself on the books of Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal, back in 2015. He even traveled to England to sign a contract but eventually opted to sign a professional deal with Villarreal.
It is now believed that Chukwueze is eager for a transfer this summer, with the Premier League standings as his preferred destination. Tottenham, having decided against activating their buy option for Arnaut Danjuma, are expected to explore other options to bolster their attacking options.

Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, who has previously worked with Lo Celso at Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal, are also said to be keenly interested in acquiring the Argentine’s services.
The situation surrounding Lo Celso is further complicated by the absence of a buy-option clause in his loan agreement with Villarreal. This means that Tottenham holds the upper hand in determining his valuation, providing them with an opportunity to negotiate a favourable deal.
