Manchester United ‘unlikely’ to bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
Premier League rivals Manchester United are ‘unlikely’ to bid for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the upcoming transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are interested in acquiring the services of the English skipper this summer. As things stand, the 29-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next season as the Old Trafford side look to bolster their attack.
However, it looks like the North London side’s demands are set to thwart the interest from Man United. The Red Devils are prioritising the addition of a new number nine into Erik ten Hag’s team. But Spurs have no intention of selling their talisman to a direct English top-flight rival.
Kane made his way through the youth ranks at Tottenham. After a few underwhelming loan spells away from the North London side, the forward broke into the Lilywhites’ first team in the 2014/15 season.
Since then, the striker has not looked back and has become our most decorated player in terms of finding the back of the net. The England international also beat Man United icon Wayne Rooney recently to top the goalscoring charts for his national side.
Despite the 29-year-old’s consistent displays for Spurs, he has been unable to get his hands on any major silverware. Individual accolades have followed the striker, but team trophies have been hard to attain.
Under Ten Hag, the Old Trafford side recently broke their six-year title drought by winning the Carabao Cup. The Dutch manager also led them to third place in the PL table last season. Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst were the Red Devils’ only natural number nines in the last few months.
Kane is a pivotal part of Tottenham’s team. In a campaign where most of our players disappointed, the English national led by example. He shouldered the burden of our attack as the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevksi underwhelmed.

Therefore, we evidently need to keep a hold of the 29-year-old to have the best chance of finding success. Thus, Man United’s reluctance is good news for us.
