Son Heung-Min confirms that his future lies at Tottenham Hotspur
Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking maestro, Son Heung-Min, has recently shed light on his future in the Premier League.
While several top-class players have been enticed by the allure of Saudi Arabia this summer, the South Korean international has boldly declared his intention to remain in England’s top flight and showcase his exceptional talent at Tottenham next season.
Son’s previous campaign fell below his usual lofty standards, a dip he attributed to physical struggles stemming from an injury problem. Determined to reclaim his best form, Son reaffirmed his commitment to the London club.
Unquestionably, the 31-year-old attacker stands among the Premier League’s finest, and his resurgence will undoubtedly galvanise Tottenham’s pursuit of a coveted Champions League spot.
Son’s tenure at Tottenham has seen him register an impressive 103 goals in 268 Premier League appearances, firmly cementing his status as an indispensable asset. It would have been easy for him to prioritise the money and move to a Saudi club.
Speaking about his future, here is what the talented South Korean had to say about a potential transfer
“If I wanted to go there, I would not be here! I love playing football. Obviously, money is also important but I dream of playing (in the) Premier League. Last season I really suffered physically. I want to prove this season that I’m the Sonny that we all know. Most people are going (to Saudi Arabia) at the moment which is really, really interesting, but the Premier League is still a dream for me to play for it, so I’m looking forward to this season.”
The burden of goal-scoring largely fell on the shoulders of Harry Kane last season, but Son’s return to form will significantly alleviate that responsibility in the upcoming campaign. A formidable partnership has blossomed between Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane over the years.
Son’s scintillating performances have showcased his world-class pedigree, and newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou will be eager to unlock the South Korean’s full potential and make him rediscover his best level.
