Two Tottenham Hotspur legends set to visit India in November to engage with fans

Tottenham club ambassadors Ledley King and Ossie Ardiles are all set to visit India in November

India is largely an untapped market when it comes to football and Tottenham Hotspur will aim to build their fanbase in the subcontinent when they travel to Mumbai later this November.

The visit will be led by Spurs legends Ledley King and Ossie Ardiles, both of whom will be working to improve grassroots-level football. They will also engage with fans and will hope that the numbers will swell in the coming months.

Spurs fans in India have 15 official supporter clubs in the nation. One of them is Mumbai and they host regular screenings, taking the club closer to the fans who now have plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Given our quick start to the season, Tottenham are the toast of the Premier League this season and the onus is on us to forge a connection while on top and leave a telling difference in the community.

India, as a whole, is largely mad about cricket but football is slowly yet steadily gaining some traction. The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all have their committed fanbases. Tottenham do have some traction and should now drive that home.

King and Ardiles are some of the best players to don our famous white jersey. They will land in Mumbai on 24 November. According to the club’s website, they will join the fans for a screening of our clash against Aston Villa two days later at Dublin Square, Phoenix Market City. Hopefully, celebrating a win against the Villans alongside two club legends will be a night for the fans to remember.

The free watch party will also have other fun activities including a DJ. If you are a Spurs faithful who is in Mumbai on the 26th of November, here is where you can register for the event.
