Tottenham mulling permanent move for Timo Werner

Timo Werner has been touted to make his loan move to North London a permanent one following a set of exemplary performances in the Tottenham Hotspur colours since swapping England for Germany once again.

The German striker has been used on the left flank rather than his preferred central role just like how RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose used him before he moved to N17 in January. He has been splendid since joining Spurs and has not looked to possess any problems that he had at Chelsea and his good outings have transferred into goal contributions, as he scored two goals and made two assists in seven appearances under Ange Postecoglou.

Marco Rose spoke about how he is tracking Timo insisting on his happiness that Werner is firing at Tottenham and how Daniel Levy & Co. have an opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis.

“We are not in contact, but of course, I am following his development,” Rose said.

“He starts scoring again, this is a result of being comfortable and feeling good. He should keep riding the wave.

“Basically, he is one of our players, but Tottenham obviously has the opportunity to sign him completely.”

According to a report by German news outlet Bild, Tottenham Hotspur have to decide by June 14th if they want to exercise the purchase option to convert Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig into a permanent move.

Timo returned to Leipzig from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and the Bundesliga side will recover about what they paid to the West London side if Spurs exercise their buying option.
