Tottenham Hotspur suffered another injury blow as Spurs faithful would not be seeing more of Yves Bissouma in the Lilywhites colors till the next season.
The North Londoners are facing what you can call an injury crisis as Spurs players are dropping like flies. The Mali international will become the fifth player to be ruled out of the season for Tottenham, following Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Ben Davies, and Richarlison. An injury list as deep as this at the business end of the season could have a severe impact on the outcome of the season; it could just be the difference between playing in the in the Champions League and the Europa League next season.
Spurs need only one point to secure Europa League football and fifth position in the Premier League table; however, if the North Londoners dig deep and attain six of the possible six, they have an opportunity to sneak past Aston Villa for a UCL qualification.
Though Ange Postecoglou has lost another man in his army, Pape Sarr, Pierre Hojbjerg, and Rodrigo Bentancur are the only available central-midfield options at the Australians’s disposal for the final two games. Oliver Skipp could also be included in the list, provided he is not busy attaining his left-back duties after serving as the fifth left-back option for the Lilywhites at the weekend against Burnley.
Yves Bissouma picked up a knee injury against Burnely, and the Tottenham official website has confirmed his injury. With the Tottenham boss speaking to SPURSPLAY on Monday, Ange said: “Unfortunately, Biss picked up a knee injury in the last game and will miss the last two.”
Bissouma will be a huge miss for Spurs clash against City; however, these are the games where youngsters like Pape Sarr could step up. All eyes are on North London tomorrow. Can Tottenham keep their top four hopes alive, or will City continue their title pursuit?
