Tottenham Hotspur rethink move for Alessandro Buongiorno

While multiple players have been linked with a move to Spurs to fill in the central defensive depth, the Italian international was leading the race as the officials in the cubicle in the Hotspur Way prepared to negotiate with his current employers. He has been linked with a move to North London since December 2023, following an exceptional season at Torino.
His antics for the Turin-based club have ensured his potential rise, as they earned him call-ups for the Italian national team. He, as of now, has secured three caps representing his country.

As Tottenham opened talks with Torino over a possible transfer, it was reported that the Italian side would demand along the lines of €35 million (£30 million) for their star defender as they hold the higher position in the negotiations with Buongiorno’s contract at Stadio Filadelfia not expiring till 2028.

While the North Londoners were convinced about signing him last week, there have been claims that the former Celtic coach in charge of Tottenham, Postecoglou, has changed his mind.
