Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, and the England international will be willing to swap Gtech Community Stadium for White Hart Lane this summer, per Matthew Chadder of Tottenham News.
The North Londoners are in dire need of a new number nine this summer, as they have yet to replace Harry Kane, who left Spurs to pursue pastures beyond N17. Kane’s exit, complemented by Richarlison links away from the Lilywhites, suggests that Tottenham will bring in a marquee centre-forward this summer.
With numerous strikers linked with a move to N17, it is to be seen who Daniel Levy & Co. pursue in the upcoming summer transfer window; however, if they decide to put all eggs in one basket for Ivan Toney, they will be signing someone who is willing to make a move to N17.
Reliable Tottenham correspondent Paul O’Keefe suggested Spurs interest in the 28-year-old ahead of the transfer window opening on June 14, and if the Lilywhites decide to sign Ivan Toney, it appears it would not be a difficult acclimatization.
A source close to the club has suggested to Tottenham News that Toney would be willing to move to White Hart Lane this summer. Thomas Frank suggested a Toney exit is “relatively obvious” this summer, fueling rumours linking the former Newcastle United ace with a move away from the club. (h/t The Athletic)
He would “jump at the chance” of joining Ange Postecoglou’s side this summer.
With just one year remaining on his contract at Gtech Community Stadium, it would be a feasible pursuit for the North Londoners to sign Toney.
