Tottenham eye prolific Serhou Guirassy to fill Harry Kane void in £17.5m summer bargain

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for multiple strikers in the build-up to the upcoming summer transfer window; however, Serhou Guirassy is one player who would be value for money among all the strikers linked to White Hart Lane.

The North Londoners are in dire need of a new striker as they look to fill the Harry Kane-shaped void in the squad following the England international’s exit last summer. Spurs did make do without Bayern Munich’s number nine last season, with Ange Postecoglou backing Richarlison to fire the Lilywhites home.

The Brazilian caused chaos when he played, although his consistent injury concerns were a massive cause of frustration for the Spurs faithful. Richy is linked with a N17 exit this summer, which opens space for not one but two strikers on the Tottenham roster.

Senior correspondent for Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, acknowledges that Guirassy would be a value-for-money signing owing to the £17.5 million release clause in his contract with the German club. The French-born striker has been linked with a move to multiple European clubs following his magnificent tally of 30 goals in 30 games in the recently concluded season.

Pete O’Rourke also claims that his current employers are doing “everything they can” to keep hold of the Guinea international, whose contract runs out in 2026. With Stuttgart securing Champions League football, the 28-year-old may be tempted to stay at Stuttgart Arena.
