Spurs academy star linked with a move to Dutch side following his 17-goal season on loan

Troy Parrott Dutch success catches the eyes

Tottenham Hotspur academy star Troy Parrott has enjoyed an impressive loan move with Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie in the recently concluded season. We have seen a glimpse of his mentality and goal-scoring prowess as the Hotspur Way graduate went from a squad role at his temporary employers to a starter.

The 22-year-old ended the season with a magnificent goal-scoring tally of 17 goals this season, while he further laid five assists. He scored a hat trick in the final match of the season to earn a 4-1 win over NEC Breda as Excelsior Rotterdam bid for their survival in the Eredivisie relegation in the playoff. While this did not prove enough, Excelsior still got relegated on an aggregate tally of 7-6.

That being said, Troy Parrott ensured that his performances impressed enough to secure his future, and that’s why he’s caught the attention of scouts from one of the top clubs in the Netherlands. Parrott’s impressive outings have generated interest from AZ Alkmaar, while unnamed Italian and English Championship clubs also hold interest in his signatures, per Spurs journalist Alastair Gold.

Troy Parrott has a contract at Hotspur Way until 2025, and the Lilywhites will have to ponder his future at the club. He is in a weird place at White Hart Lane as of now, while his scoring tally suggests he needs to be given a run at N17. Spurs are looking for a marquee striker, and reports advocate that Tottenham may cash in on his purple patch form.

It is to be seen how the club reacts to his future in the off-season.
