Tottenham pipped to beat West Ham to the signing of Tammy Abraham

Tottenham are set to join the race with West Ham for former Chelsea academy product Tammy Abraham. The Premier League clubs now want to offer him a route back to England, per Football Insider.

After two impressive seasons and one injury-ridden one with the Italian club Roma, the English striker is linked with some Premier League clubs. Tammy joined Roma in 2021 under Portugal tactician Jose Mourinho, The striker was an inevitable player for Mourinho when he picked the squad. The former Chelsea youth player contributed 37 goals and 13 assists in 119 games for the Italian side.

All the top clubs noticed his performance in the Serie A games, and they have shown their interest in signing the 26-year-old in the summer. Tammy’s injury woes haven’t thrown Premier League clubs off with regards to their interest in his signature.

West Ham have identified the targetman as a potential reinforcement under new manager Julen Lopetegui but Tottenham are also keenly staying alive in the race. Tammy’s experience playing in the Premier League earlier with Chelsea makes him no stranger to the league. In his two years at Stamford Bridge, Tammy scored 30 goals and 10 assists in 82 appearances for the Blues.
