Former scout insists Spurs willing to pull the plug on transfer for prime target this summer

Gallagher on hold? Tottenham prioritize Eze’s signing

Tottenham Hotspur have established a strong interest in securing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the ongoing summer transfer window; however, former scout Bryan King believes that the club would be willing to pull the plug on bringing the England international to White Hart Lane following recent developments in other potential signings.

The North Londoners have a longstanding interest in securing the 24-year-old this summer, with Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou looking to bring the Cobham graduate to Hotspur Way as he would fit into the Australian’s style of play. However, the club may drop interest in signing the Chelsea man as Spurs propel towards signing Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.

King tips Eze over Gallagher

Spurs have been looking to intensify their interest in bringing the £60 million-rated Arsenal academy reject to North London, per The Times. And King thinks acquiring the Palace ace would change the recruitment strategy at N17.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Bryan King said:

“It appears as if Tottenham have moved away from a deal for Gallagher. Eze is a player who I have liked since he was with QPR. I remember watching him play against Millwall, and I thought he was an outstanding player.”

“I’d imagine that he will be looking to step into European football, which he would have the opportunity to do if he were to move to Tottenham. Most importantly, when you’re talking about big clubs in London, Spurs are bigger than Crystal Palace.”

Eze is one of the magical maestros of the Premier League who can be the engine of Spurs midfield for years to come. His creative outlet can rarely be replicated, and the North Londoners need someone in his position owing to their struggles with central creativity in the recently concluded season.

Tottenham may think about acquiring both Eze and Gallagher; however, that would potentially cost a lot of money, which is a hefty fee as the club has to strengthen in multiple positions this window.
