“My goal was to reach the highest levels” – 22-year-old Tottenham Hotspur star has a clear ambition for his footballing career

Tottenham Hotspur star Radu Dragusin is eyeing to become the very best and reach the highest levels

Speaking to Diretta. it, Tottenham Hotspur and Romanian defender Radu Dragusin has spoken out about his ambitions in football and desires to reach the highest levels in his playing career.

Dragusin joined Spurs from Genoa in the January transfer window and struggled to get going in the English top flight. Part of these struggles were down the the fact that Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero formed an almost unbreakable partnership in the heart of defence.

That said, the Romanian defender’s abilities and exploits have caught the eye in the Euros 2024. As a team, they have been impressive in this tournament and have managed to qualify for the Round of 16 as the first-placed team in a group involving Belgium and Ukraine.

The 22-year-old is arguably the most high-profile name playing for Romania at the moment. Capable of playing at centre-back and right-back, Dragusin is just the kind of versatile defender Postecoglou appreciates.

Speaking about his ambitions in football to the aforementioned source, here is what the exciting Tottenham youngster had to say

“It’s a season that has gone very well so far. And I intend to continue my journey with Romania. I certainly grew a lot, and I went to Tottenham where it’s another world, where you just have to learn. But I want to grow further and achieve higher goals.”

“It’s what I wanted. My goal was to reach the highest levels of football and I want to do the best I can to achieve that.”

How does Radu Dragusin fit in at Tottenham?

To become one of the best in the world, Dragusin needs to play week in and week out and there remains a doubt whether that will be possible at the N17. After all, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are two of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

Tottenham ace Radu Dragusin is a star in the making

That said, there will undoubtedly be more opportunities at Spurs next season. The club find themselves in the Europa League which means mid-week games which in turn calls for a number of rotations from Ange Postecoglou.

There is no way either Romero or Van de Ven can play every minute of every game next season and Dragusin will get his opportunities to impress. If he can take them with both hands, nothing like it for his career.
