Fabrizio Romano claims there is a ‘90% chance’ of Tottenham star leaving this summer

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has a ‘90% chance’ of leaving says Fabrizio Romano

Famed journo, Fabrizio Romano has made a shocking claim regarding the future of Tottenham Hotspur star, Giovani Lo Celso. The 28-year-old midfielder had a poor season during Ange Postecoglou’s first year at the helm.

Now that he has just a year left on his contract, this would be the perfect time for the Lilywhites to let go of Lo Celso. The Argentina national has been on Tottenham’s books for five years and has only managed to make 108 appearances for them during that time.

Thanks to a string of poor performances, Lo Celso has often found himself out on loan to different teams. Now, if what Romano revealed to Give Me Sport is true, the Argentine’s future time in North London is all but done. Let’s have a look at what Fabrizio had to say about the situation.

“For Lo Celso, it’s a different story. I see Lo Celso leaving Tottenham in the summer transfer window. I think there is a 90 percent chance he leaves and there is interest from Real Betis.”

Back when Lo Celso arrived at Tottenham it was through Real Betis. During his first stint with the La Liga side, the midfielder made 45 appearances and ended up recording 16 goals and six assists.

Unfortunately, the 28-year-old has failed to put up numbers like this ever since he left Spain. Now, a return seems to be in the books. Trasnfermarkt values Lo Celso at €16m, which is a relatively cheap price for a player of his quality.

Even if a team has to pay north of €20m for the Argentine, it would be worth the investment. However, any deal for him could break down if Lo Celso fails to stay fit.
