Tottenham make ambitious enquiry to sign 24-year-old Real Madrid star once on Manchester City’s books

Tottenham Hotspur make ambitious enquiry for Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz

According to Footmercato, Tottenham Hotspur have made an ambitious enquiry to sign ex-Manchester City and current Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz despite the player’s desire to remain in the Spanish capital.

Diaz who spent a significant time at Manchester City’s academy really made a name for himself at AC Milan, where he spent a couple of seasons on loan from Real Madrid. The 24-year-old returned to Los Blancos and had a significant impact despite a bit-part role last season.

Despite most of the appearances being off the bench, Carlo Ancelotti played Brahim Diaz 44 times across all competitions last season, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists. Those numbers are frankly ridiculous for someone who hardly started for the Spanish giants.

An embodiment of versatility, Brahim Diaz can play in multiple positions on a football pitch. Capable of playing as a striker, second-striker, attacking midfielder, right-wing and left-wing, this kind of ability in a footballer is something most coaches around the world value.

The Spanish talent is likely to have an impressive career at the very top of the game. However, there is a very pressing question that needs to be addressed. Will Brahim get enough opportunities to make it big at Real Madrid?

Too many cooks?

Real Madrid already had Vinicius, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham manning the positions that Brahim likes operating in last season, which in turn resulted in his marginalized game time. This time around, they have two more high-profile additions in Endrick and Kylian Mbappe.

Brahim Diaz might not fancy a move to Tottenham

Carlo Ancelotti is spoilt for options in attack and attacking midfield. If the manager persists with the 4-4-2 diamond formation that worked so successfully last season, Diaz has to contend with Bellingham, Endrick and even Rodrygo for the tip of the diamond.

Alternatively, should the illustrated Italian manager choose to shift to a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, it increases the chances of Brahim featuring either on one of the wings or as the #10. Regardless, it’ll be a huge surprise if he is a guaranteed starter.

For his own good, Brahim must move away from Real Madrid. He might not fancy a move to Tottenham but if we do manage to convince him of the exciting project we are building, it’ll be an exceptional acquisition for the club. Let’s wait and see how this particular saga progresses.
