Ange Postecoglou excited about new Tottenham signing Min-hyuk Yang
Recently speaking to Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold out in South Korea, Ange Postecoglou expressed his excitement over the club’s acquisition of teenage sensation Min-hyuk Yang.
The 18-year-old winger, capable of playing on either wing, will officially join the team in January.
Here is what Postecoglou had to say about the “next Son Heung-min”:
“We’re delighted to have him as part of the club, somebody who was identified by our scouting department. A young talented player and we’re looking always to not just for the present but for the future. He’s shown great promise and we’re looking forward to having him as part of the club, once he’s finished his commitments with his club now.”
As quoted by Football London
Yang’s acquisition marks the addition of another young sensation to the Lilywhites, for whom it has very much been the pattern of this transfer window.
Apart from Yang, Spurs have also roped in Lucas Bergvall (18) from Djurgården, Archie Gray (18) from Leeds United, and George Feeney (16) from Glentoran.
Having won all of their pre-season games thus far, Spurs play the K-League All Stars side next before facing Bayern Munich twice in their final two friendlies.
They kick off their Premier League campaign against the newly-promoted Leicester City on Monday, August 19.
The young players are exciting, but…
It’s good to see the club’s Technical Director Johan Lange delivering on the promise of wanting to make Spurs an attractive prospect for youngsters.
However, Spurs also need players that can help them in the here and now, and one can only hope for the sake of their fans that they bring some in in the remaining weeks of this transfer window.

After all, their fans would not want another year of “started strong but got tired towards the end”. Exciting football is only welcomed as long as there is a sliver of hope that it could precipitate into something substantial, and for Spurs, that means only one thing: silverware.
