Federico Chiesa is on Tottenham Hotspur radar

Tottenham eyeing bargain deal for Juventus winger Chiesa

Tottenham Hotspur have established links with a move to sign Juventus winger Chiesa in the ongoing summer transfer window. The links to the Italian winger come amid Spurs need to bolster their offensive dynamics going into the upcoming season.

Chiesa is in the final year of his contract with the Turin-based club and has been frequently linked with a move away from the Serie A side.

Any move for the 26-year-old would cost somewhere around €25–30 million. The bargain fee is in regards to Bianconeri’s keenness on selling his services this summer.

Tottenham look to steal Chiesa from Arsenal’s grasp

Juventus have a new boss in town, Thiago Motta, and the former Bologna coach insists that the Italian winger is not in his plans and has already asked Chiesa to find a new club before the conclusion of the ongoing window.

Speaking about Chiesa’s future at Juve, the former PSG midfielder said: (via. Fabrizio Romano)

“Chiesa and all the other players not called up for today’s game are not part of the project. We have been clear with them; they have to find a new solution and a new club as soon as possible. The decision has been made.”

This shows that Levy and Spurs could use the current situation to land the player in a bargain deal.

That being said, Arsenal have also expressed interest in the Italian winger, who was lauded as ‘unstoppable‘ by his former club and country teammate Giorgio Chiellini.

For Tottenham, there is not an urgent need to sign a new forward considering the options that the club has on the flanks; the same could not be said about a number nine. There is quite a possibility that the club is prioritising signing a marquee striker and looking to land Chiesa as market conditions emerge and a cheap deal could be sorted for a quality incoming.

This is increasingly looking like a Daniel Levy deal.

We will see if the club can go head-to-head with Arsenal to sign Chiesa. Ange could leverage the competition at the Emirates Stadium to pursue Chiesa to White Hart Lane.
