Tottenham are expected to sign another forward after the potential acquisition of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur could sign another forward along with Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke.
The north London club have identified Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke as a major striker target before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month. The 26-year-old is believed to be ready to take the next step in his career and join a club playing in Europe.
After getting the green signal for a switch from the player, Tottenham have started negotiations with Bournemouth over the acquisition of Solanke. The former England youth international, who has a £65m release clause written into his contract until 2027 (Transfermarkt), scored 21 goals in 42 games across all competitions last season—his most prolific scoring campaign thus far in a Bournemouth shirt.
Solanke’s goalscoring exploits of the 2023/24 season, coupled with his overall development as a player under Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola, may have convinced Spurs that he is the right fit to lead the Ange Postecoglou-managed team’s attack.
Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano has stated that Tottenham will be busy in the final weeks of the summer transfer window, with potentially an extra signing in the front line alongside Solanke expected.
“I think the main focus is going to be up front. They need one more offensive player, at least one. Could be two, based on opportunities. But for sure, Tottenham will be busy there,” Romano told GIVEMESPORT.
“For example, one of the players they like is Dominic Solanke. It’s something that I said in the past few days because I’m told that Tottenham really explored the possibility of making a move for Dominic Solanke.”
Spurs have had a quiet transfer window so far and fans will be hoping to see some late activity, with the 2024/25 campaign commencing in less than two weeks. After opting not to replace Harry Kane last summer and in the January window, Ange Postecoglou heavily relied on Son Heung-min and Richarlison for goals.
The duo’s efforts were not enough to help the team qualify for the Champions League, which would have been a fantastic achievement in Postecoglou’s first season in north London. In a bid to avoid last season’s goalscoring issues, Spurs—as per Romano—are trying to add extra firepower after the potential acquisition of Solanke.
With Richarlison heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and the club open to loan offers for Manor Solomon, it remains to be seen the profile of a forward Spurs are willing to target in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Given the lack of a creative wide forward who can create chances and score goals in equal measure, as well as complement Son in the final third, it wouldn’t be surprising if our club tries to bring one in that ilk along with Solanke.
