West Ham are the latest club to show interest in signing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso
After heavy investments to reinforce the squad over the summer, Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer deadline day is expected to be largely centred around departures.
Big Ange inherited a hugely imbalanced squad from Antonio Conte’s tenure after he became the Spurs head coach last summer. He has had three transfer windows to reshape the squad as per his vision, and so far with the help of Daniel Levy and Co., the Greek-Australian tactician has done a commendable job.
There have been several departures from the club since the end of June. Manor Solomon is the latest player to leave Spurs, with the Israeli winger joining Championship club Leeds United on a season-long loan.
Giovani Lo Celso is another player who looks likely to depart Tottenham. The 2024 Copa America winner’s future at the club has been up in the air for some time now. As we have entered the transfer deadline day, he has started garnering interest from clubs across Europe.

According to The Daily Express journalist Charlie Gordon, West Ham United have contacted Tottenham over a possible swoop for Giovani Lo Celso, although Spanish side Real Betis remain in pole position to re-sign him.
Lo Celso is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s booming project at White Hart Lane and has been supposedly informed internally to find a new home. The central midfielder has not been included in Spurs’ match-day squads in the opening two Premier League games against Leicester City and Everton, which is another signal his time at the club is all but over.
