Injury expert provides an update on the setback of £90k-per-week Tottenham star

Tottenham forward Richarlison is expected to miss the entire month due to injury

Tottenham Hotspur will face bitter rivals Arsenal in the Premier League next when they resume their season after the international break. The two clubs will lock horns with each other at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, desperate to earn the North London Derby bragging rights on Sunday.

Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou must be concerned about one of his players, who missed the last match with an injury. Forward Richarlison missed the last game away at Newcastle United, which Tottenham lost 2-1.

Richarlison will have hoped to take advantage of summer signing Dominic Solanke’s absence but picked up an injury in training ahead of the trip to Newcastle United. Big Ange gave no timeline for the 27-year-old but, having not been called up by Brazil for the upcoming international break, he remained at the club to continue his rehabilitation.

Dr Rajpal Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, has now given us an update on Richarlison’s injury condition. He feels the Brazil international will take until next month to return to full fitness, meaning the forward will surely miss the big clash against Arsenal at the weekend.

“He picked up the injury in training and is expected to be ruled out for a few weeks,” Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told Tottenham News.

“Based on the potential return timeline around 21 September, he will likely be progressing through more dynamic activities with the hope of returning to team training after the international break.

“It’s fair to rule him out for the entire month from first-team training.”

Richarlison expected to be out for the entire month will come as a huge blow for him and Tottenham. He has clocked

Richarlison has been unlucky with injury problems since joining Spurs in 2022

The £90,000-per-week star has struggled with consistency and fitness since arriving at Spurs from Everton in the summer of 2022. When fully fit and confident, Richarlison can be a terrifying prospect for the opposition defence. He is a good presser of the ball and works his socks off for the team. However, the Brazilian’s notable performances in a Spurs shirt have been far and few in between, with injuries mostly sabotaging the forward’s progress.

Games are set to come thick and fast for Spurs post-international break, with the Europa League slated to begin later this month. Squad rotation and management are extremely key in such a taxing schedule and Ange Postecoglou would have loved to use Richarlison in cup competitions.

Now, Big Ange and the Spurs faithful will be hoping that once Richarlison recovers from his early-season injury setback, he could push for a starting berth and make telling contributions in the final third of the pitch.
