Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to build a quality roster to aid Ange Postecoglou as Daniel Levy looks to provide all possible feathers to the Australian gaffer’s arsenal, and backing those ambitions, the club chairman is now looking at another high-profile transfer of Canadian striker Jonathan David.
The Lille striker was on the agenda in the recently concluded window, although no move materialised despite aggressive links about a move to White Hart Lane. Beyond the Lilywhites, the centre-forward was also subject to links with other high-profile clubs as his contract with the current employers ran down into the final twelve months.

The desperation to sell will only grow at the French giants when we enter the winter transfer market, as Lille would want to get a considerable return on their investment rather than risk losing their priced asset on a fee transfer.
Levy looks to add another high-profile striker to Postecoglou’s arsenal
And Levy will once again be looking to take advantage of the opportunity as he positions the North Londoners in the ‘front row’ for a possible move, per TuttoJuve, who claim that the Lilywhites are leading the race to David’s signatures.
Alongside Tottenham, Juventus are also considering a move to secure the 24-year-old’s services, although the far greater financial flex at Hotspur Way makes N17 a preferred destination.
Jonathan David, a Richy replacement?
Spurs did fork out a mammoth £65m to bring in Dominic Solanke from AFC Bournemouth last summer. The ex-Liverpool striker is expected to fill a Harry Kane-shaped void by acting as a focal point for Tottenham’s attack.
Ange also has Brazilian striker Richarlison as a potential option for the striking role. However, a potential free transfer for a high-scoring profile like David is too difficult to pass in the current market.
