Tottenham skipper Son Heung-min will be raring to produce the goods against Arsenal
The new Premier League season’s first instalment of the North London Derby is on the horizon, as Tottenham Hotspur hosts bitter rivals Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Both teams are heading into the game on the back of disappointing results. Tottenham went down 2-1 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park, while 10-man Arsenal were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Brighton at home before the international hiatus.
The Gunners are set to miss a couple of star players for the trip across the capital. On the contrary, Spurs are fairly well placed with regards to squad availability, with Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke set to return to action after missing out last time out.

There have been numerous predictions by pundits ahead of the North London Derby showdown. Ex-Spurs striker Darren Bent has dropped his verdict now. He thinks Son Heung-min will be the main threat against Arsenal, tipping the South Korean’s connection with creative midfielder James Maddison to be the key to unlocking the rigid defence.
“Maddison, he is key,” said Bent. “Son is always the main one. I think he (Dominic Solanke) could be key as well,” Darren Bent said on talkSPORT.
“I think the main one’s with Son. When he shows up, he’s so dangerous. Just give him half a chance, and he scores. That connection with Maddison.”
Son Heung-min has become Spurs’ main man in attack since Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich last summer. He scored 17 goals and supplied 10 assists in the Premier League during the 2023/24 season, showing he is more than capable of shouldering the responsibility of leading the attack.
