Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham have been criticised left, right and centre following the 1-0 loss to Arsenal
It has been a far from ideal start to the 2024/25 season for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur. They have picked up just four points from their first four games, winning just once—a 4-0 drubbing of Everton—so far this term.
This is Spurs’ worst start to the campaign in the top flight since 2015/16. The team is currently 13th in the table after back-to-back defeats to Newcastle United and Arsenal. Of course, after such a poor start, questions are starting to be asked about Ange Postecoglou and his future at N17.
Tottenham backed Ange Postecoglou wholeheartedly in the past transfer window, with five fresh faces arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Exciting talents such as Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Archie Gray have joined Big Ange’s forces, while Dominic Solanke arrived from Bournemouth in a club-record deal. South Korean prodigy Yang Min-hyeok is set to join the club at the start of January 2025 after completing the K-League season with Gangwon FC.

After the 1-0 derby loss to Arsenal last weekend, Big Ange and Spurs unsurprisingly received criticism from fans and pundits alike. TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher has now made a big claim that Tottenham have lost their ‘desire to win’, raising concerns about the club’s present trajectory under Big Ange.
“I find this whole Tottenham situation baffling, really strange. I think I’m in the minority that I kind of look at it through eyes that say ‘I don’t think this is going that well at all’ from a Tottenham perspective,” Darren Fletcher said on The Premier League Review show.
“Yet people keep telling me they entertain and that’s what they want to do, because they had Conte
and Mourinho before and I don’t quite know where the desire to win has gone, if you’re part of that fan base.“But I look at it at the moment, and it confuses me, rather than gives me answers to questions when I look at the way this is all developing for Tottenham.”
Spurs haven’t been great for a long time now, stretching back to results from the back end of last season. The Lilywhites somehow managed to qualify for the Europa League, but after strengthening the squad over the summer, they were expected to start the new season strongly. But that hasn’t happened, putting Big Ange in a spot of bother.

Tottenham’s next two Premier League games against Brentford and Manchester United are massive, and if we go into the next international break with an upturn in form, it will calm down the situation around the club and our gaffer.
