Tottenham Hotspur wide forward Dejan Kulusevski has taken up an integral role at White Hart Lane since he moved to the English top tier. He has performed impressively while taking strides to his development at Hotspur Way, and the fact that he is versatile enough to slot into multiple roles has proven to be critical for Ange Postecoglou’s side—the Swede can appear through the middle as well as out wide.
The Atlanta Academy graduate has established himself as a key cog at White Hart Lane, and he would be looking to help the club not only compete but also win some silverware during his time at N17.
Kulusevski reflects on Cristiano Ronaldo advice
The 24-year-old has now opened up about a piece of advice that he received from former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo during the pair’s time together at Juventus. The Portuguese urged the Swede to understand his body better and play as per his strengths and weaknesses.
However, Kulusevski didn’t understand what CR7 meant back then, though he is starting to get a gist of the depth behind Ronaldo’s words now.
-> Staveley’s takeover could lead to Ange Postecoglou departure at Tottenham
Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Kulusevski said:
“I’m getting to know my body. When I was younger, I didn’t understand when [Cristiano] Ronaldo told me, ‘You will get to know your body’. Because I didn’t know my body then.
“But now I’m starting to understand my strengths and weaknesses and how I can improve. So I feel like everything is getting easier.”
Can Kulusevski reach new heights this season?
Kulusevski is still a young player who has an abundance of experience under his belt. His development has been impressive, and his time alongside seasoned professionals like Ronaldo has certainly contributed to his growth. Hopefully he will start banging some goals soon starting with the upcoming weekend when the North Londoners face West Ham as they resume Premier League duties following a lengthy international break.
-> Tottenham nearly signed this £32 million striker instead of Solanke
