Tottenham Hotspur’s hierarchy is now setting their sights on an ex-Manchester City gem according to German Newsletter BILD, known for his attacking prowess inside the penalty area, as manager Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen the squad further.

Their recent 3-2 defeat to Brighton, where Spurs let a two-goal advantage slip due to poor defending, highlights the work still ahead for Postecoglou at N17.

Ange Postecoglou’s words will be music to the ears of Tottenham fans, who have been starved of silverware for more than 16 years.

Bynoe-Gittens can help Spurs

According to German newspaper Bild, Tottenham are keen on Borussia Dortmund sensation Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, dispatching scouts to monitor the 20-year-old’s performances in the Bundesliga.

The former Manchester City academy player has been making regular appearances for Dortmund and found the net in their opening league match of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 20-year-old Englishman, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City’s youth team and has already made 67 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 11 assists. His versatility allows him to play on both wings, making him a valuable asset. Alongside Karim Adeyemi, Bynoe-Gittens represents the strength of Dortmund’s impressive youth academy. Currently, he earns approximately £50,000 per week.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also courting the forward, who Transfermarkt now values at around £29 million, perhaps highlighting his serious potential. As well as this, former Dortmund captain and current sporting director Sebastian Kehl has claimed that Gittens is “almost impossible to defend against”.

“The reaction from Jamie is that of a champion,” said Kehl.

“We expect that the lads that come on change the game. When he is in the penalty area, he’s almost impossible to defend against.”

If Postecoglou wants to fulfil his pledge, Spurs may have to strengthen in key areas this coming January. Before Brighton, the Lilywhites were on a winning run of five straight games, so there is clearly potential there.
