Cristian Romero could return to the Tottenham squad against Bournemouth.

Tottenham trash Aston Villa 4-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium as Ange’s Men climb to 7th in the Premier League Table

Tottenham Hotspur entered their clash with Aston Villa eyeing a win, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and managed to do just that as they won with the brilliant remontada, with the man in form Dominic Solanke scoring a wonderful brace. Villa arrived with a five-point advantage over Spurs, and Emery’s disciplined tactics kept the Lilywhites from breaking through decisively, caging their usual attacking flair until the 74th minute as hell broke loose after Richarlison’s inclusion to the game.

Tottenham faced notable changes in their lineup. They were without their key center-back, Van de Ven, and the captain, Son Heung-min, who returned after missing the City game. Villa opened the scoring as Morgan Rogers easily found the net in the 32nd minute, giving Villa an early edge. However, a moment of brilliance from Son led to an exquisite cross, perfectly set up for Brennan Johnson to equalize.

Son was substituted shortly after, perhaps as an injury precaution, with Richarlison coming on to add attacking firepower. Bentancur made way for Bissouma, and Romero was replaced by Davies, as Postecoglou sought to tip the balance in Spurs’ favour.

Dominic Solanke was in sublime form, netting two stunning goals. His first showcased pure finesse, as he received a well-timed pass from Kulusevski and calmly chipped the keeper.

Just when it seemed the game was over, Maddison proved to Ange why he deserved a starting spot by scoring a brilliant free kick in the 96th minute.

Ultimately, the match concluded with a decisive 4-1 victory for Tottenham, showcasing Ange’s tactical edge and firmly spoiling Emery’s birthday celebration. This win boosts Tottenham’s momentum in their pursuit of a top-four spot.

There seems to be worries as it was seen that Cristian Romero who was having a brilliant game was seen limping out and was subbed in the 61st minute, It looks to be a big scare if both the defenders (Romero and VDV) are out for long period of time.

Tottenham faced another injury scare as Richarlison had to be substituted after assisting Solanke in the 82nd minute. However, the important win remained the focus, as Tottenham continued their brilliant form and set their sights on securing a top-four finish.

Player Ratings –

Guglielmo Vicario: 6 Executed a crucial save around the half-hour mark to reject Onana, but moments later, he was outmuscled at a corner, resulting in Rogers scoring the simplest goal of his life. Aside from that, he had very little to deal with.

Pedro Porro: 7 The Spaniard Porro enjoyed a significantly improved second half, as Spurs displayed greater intensity both in and out of possession. Nevertheless, he still appeared somewhat vulnerable when facing opponents in one-on-one dribbling situations.

Cristian Romero: 7 Romero managed to keep Ollie Watkins at bay for the majority of the match. However, the Argentine committed a reckless challenge early in the second half, which likely caused concern for Postecoglou when he soon limped off due to injury.

Radu Dragusin: 6 Dragusin faced challenges at various points during his year in north London and did little to demonstrate that he deserved a place in Spurs’ first-choice back four. He might need a new partner if Romero is unavailable for an extended period.

Destiny Udogie: 7 Udogie continued to be one of Spurs’ most promising talents in attack and was showing rapid improvement in his defensive skills. He came close to scoring with a powerful right-footed shot in the second half.

Rodrigo Bentancur: 7 Bentancur frequently found himself handling Villa’s counter-attacks alone but managed to cope admirably. He was substituted early in the second half.

Pape Sarr: 8 It was Sarr’s exceptional anticipation that rejected a promising Villa attack and set Spurs in motion for Solanke’s second goal. His active performances are increasingly vital for Postecoglou.

Dejan Kulusevski: 8 This match was a quieter affair for Kulusevski, but it was his clever pass to Solanke that put Spurs in the lead. That’s the hallmark of the Premier League’s top players.

Brennan Johnson: 8 Johnson had been Spurs’ standout player in recent months and secured a point with another goal. His knack for making runs to the back post has established him as one of the Premier League’s most prolific wingers.

Dominic Solanke: Solanke requires Spurs to offer him improved service, as his finishing can be lethal when they successfully locate their center-forward in front of goal. Kulusevski’s intelligent pass set the England forward up for a one-on-one with Emi Martinez, allowing him to deliver a delightful chipped finish.

He then scored again with a one-touch finish from Richarlison’s cross. Solanke possesses the ability to execute various types of finishes.

Heung-min Son: 7 Son delivered a charming left-footed cross to assist Johnson’s goal. However, the Spurs captain appeared uneasy on his return from injury and was substituted early in the 55th minute.

Substitutes

A. Gray5 – The teenager had limited opportunity to make an impression after being substituted late in the match.

J. Maddison7 A breathtaking free kick served as a reminder to everyone, particularly Postecoglou, of his talents. Maddison has experienced a difficult beginning to the season, but this moment could help reignite his form.

Richarlison8 Arrived with a burst of energy and left in a similar fashion, providing Solanke with an assist for his second goal after a fantastic run, but unfortunately got injured shortly afterwards.

Y. Bissouma6 Bissouma made a notable impact in midfield after coming on for Bentancur.

B. Davies 6 The experienced Davies might see more playing time after making his first Premier League appearance of the season. Spurs will be hoping that Romero’s issue isn’t serious.
