Pedro Porro has gone from having a mixed start to life at Tottenham to one of the most desired fullbacks in Europe under Ange Postecoglou.
Reports in recent weeks have been linking the Spaniard with a return to Spain, with Real Madrid keen to find a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.
And now, another European heavyweight has entered the mix.
Man City want to bring back Pedro Porro
As reported by GiveMeSport, Manchester City are monitoring the progress of Pedro Porro at Tottenham and may be tempted to re-sign him in the coming months.
The Spanish fullback is now one of the first names on the team sheet under Ange Postecoglou. He’s already made 11 appearances this season across all competitions.
Porro was on City’s books for three years but never played a game for them. The Sky Blues are now in need to find reinforcements on the right side of their defence, especially with an ageing Kyle Walker having looked troubled often this season.
The Spain international is valued by Transfermarkt at €45 million, though Spurs are expected to demand around €95 million for him, especially with Real Madrid also in the mix for him.
Porro’s £85k-per-week Tottenham contract is set to run until June 2028.
Porro’s rise is Spurs’ gain
Daniel Levy’s reputation as a shrewd negotiator is absolutely warranted. When you look at the clubs coming for Porro and the years remaining on his contract, it’s hard to imagine Spurs letting him go for peanuts, be it in January or next summer.
Making big money off Porro’s sale would also allow Spurs to not only find another right-back but also a left-back; they need reinforcements out wide in general.
Of course, Spurs’ results going forward will also play a key role in how much Levy will be able to tempt Porro’s suitors break the bank for his services.
